This week I have picked another Virgo songster, Leonard Cohen. He turns 82 on September 21. To me he has gotten better with age. In his later albums, his phrasing has become more deliberate but smoother and his voice has gotten grittier and more soulful. Leonard Cohen’s work is dark and smoky but he is a wordsmith all the same. In that I mean that his words take me somewhere. They conjure up a magical image for me or pluck at the strings of my soul. Below is one of my favorite stanzas, so I’ll let him speak for me.

“Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin Dance me through the panic till I’m gathered safely in Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove Dance me to the end of love”

*Aries – Emperor – This is week four with you all getting big cards. The past four weeks you have been trying out new experiences, making small changes, having some amazing epiphanies and now it’s about Creating. Yes, that is Creating with a big C. *Taurus – The Chariot/Five of Swords – The past two weeks you have been working on honing your people skills. This continues just a bit with the five of Swords. The lesson of Five of Swords is to be aware of one’s ego and how it can impede what you want to accomplish. Now with your ego in mind The Chariot asks how can you move your ideas forward in a balanced and objective way? Amen

Gemini – Seven of Wands – What! You got Seven of Wands again. This can mean two things -one, the pace this week is still a bit frantic and you need to keep focused. Or two, you let people or things distract you last week and got nothing really done. Either way it is another week to keep your head down while still keeping your eyes on the prize. Banjo

Cancer – Four of Pentacles – So now that you have hopefully freed up some space in your closet, cabinets, and/or heart, the Four of Pentacles challenge is to sit with the “emptiness” and not to fill it. The Four of Pentacles lessons are around feelings of not having enough resources. And, with last week’s Eight of Cups it is about how your concept of self worth is linked to the “emptiness”. So this week, you need to work on just being with the spaces you created from last week’s dump. You may find that a simpler life is just what you are looking for. Never Gave Nobody Trouble

*Leo – High Priestess – The High Priestess’s lesson is around honing your intuition. The challenge is how to gain the perspective you need to listen to your inner voice. I suggest you try at least one of these exercises this week: You can sit in silence and listen. You can write down your dreams and spend time looking into their symbolism. Ask a question and pick a symbol like a butterfly then when it shows up- pay attention- there will be information for you. Or look for synchronicities this week. Just remember the High Priestess gives you knowledge in the form of symbols, synchronicities, paradoxes, and puzzles. She does this to sharpen your mind, because intuition is the product of gut instincts, combined with past experiences, and filtered through the conscious and subconscious. Sisters of Mercy

Virgo – Nine of Swords – I want you to remember the last two weeks of mottos: “you got this” and “keep on keeping on”.  So, now that you have accomplished things and things are moving in a good direction your old worries can rise up to bug you again. The challenge with the Nine of Swords is to find something that lets you put your worries down. Whether you write them in a journal, create art, talk to someone – get your worries out, lay them down, and walk away. “Worries never solved anything, anyways.” You Got Me Singing

*Libra – Hierophant – This is another big week. Last week the Empress had you generate a vision around creativity, home, comfort, and material abundance. This week the Hierophant continues that theme with the “how to do it”.  The Hierophant’s lessons are around planning and structure. So if you did your vision board this will be easier. Take one of your vision, for example let’s say you want a vegetable garden. First, you will write down all the things you need: soil, boards to make a raised bed, seed, etc…Then you get out a calendar and schedule it. It is that simple. This process is great because it sets up a good practice for your coming birthday year. If you get this flow going of visioning then planning, this will be your most productive year yet. So, you can have more of the life you want than a life being driven by the wants of others. Joan of Arc

*Scorpio – Lovers – This is a week to look at the people around you to get some guidance for your inner self. Each person you have in your life has something to teach whether that is how to live your life or how not to live your life. The Lovers’ question is what can you create that exceeds both you and that person? This can look as simple as collaborating with someone on a project, or as complex as looking at look at the people or situations that re-occur in your life. Sagittarius – Ace of Cups – So I really hope you all at least read the article – saturninsagittariustransit to give you a hint of this big change you are undergoing through 2017. This week you got the Ace of Cups. The Ace of Cups is about new emotional beginnings, and it asks what is your heart’s desire? This seems easy, but it is not. Desire is “a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.”  Here is the tricky thing with the heart. For example, you think that you want a relationship but what your heart desires is security. So that desire can keep you from relationships because they are not certain. Even in the best soul mate love situation at some point you will deal with the loss of love by death. So your heart keeps you from loving relationships to be secure.  I know I am being super heavy with this Sag, but I really want you to get your desires with this big change happening. Capricorn – Eight of Pentacles – The Eight of Pentacles’ lessons are around mastery. This is a great week to practice your “art, work, or passions”.  You will feel more accomplished if you put work first at least for this week. I think possibly this is because Pluto is turning direct at the end of the week. Pluto dredging the undercurrents of the subconscious will be on hold this week. So my heady Capricorn, you will be less distracted by Pluto plowing in your mind to get some work done. Hallelujah

*Aquarius – The Devil – This week The Devil’s card focuses on temptation, guilt, and misdirection. The Devil asks where, what or who is distracted you off your path? The Devil is that voice in all of our heads that whispers distracting and sometimes very negative thoughts. You can tame the Devil with optimism while still “giving the Devil his due”.  Remember, he is also the comedian and can make us laugh at our foibles for we are all just human. So your challenge this week is to the see the humor in situations while still walking towards your goals. Morning Glory

Pisces – Two of Swords/Six of Wands – So first the Two of Swords, this week will be full of conundrums. There will be lots of hard decision making. However, you also got the Six of Wands- good news. Usually with just the Two of Swords, I would say follow your gut when deciding things. But this week, you will actually get your answers from outside sources.
