William Morris, born today 183 years ago, was a textile designer, poet, novelist, translator and socialist. He was a major contributor to the revival of British textile and the literary genre of the modern fantasy. I was first introduced to him at a exhibit in London on exhibit over 30 years ago. But I fell for him years later after I read this quote: I do not want art for a few any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few. I came across it again this week and thought wow this is still a statement that still needs to be heard.
P.S. I have added some of his designs to your signs cause they are pretty. Remember, signs with * it’s a big week for you.
Aries – Page of Pentacles – During the last two weeks you have been lightening up some of your dark corners of thought. In so doing you have found that you need to polish up some of your thought processes. So, the Page of Pentacles’ challenge to you is that you learn new or expand on existing thought processes or skills this week. The more open you are to new ways of doing things, the better the outcome for you.
Taurus – Page of Swords – Your work continues this week. Take a pause on producing – right now you need to do some investigative work. This is a week to dig for information by asking questions, reading new articles or books, or having some probing conversations.
*Gemini – The Fool – Gemini, you do well with this card because like you The Fool portrays duality. This week you get to explore your inner trickster, joker, punster and the mindful, in-the-moment Zen monk. Your challenge is to find and shine joy through laughter and through mindfulness.
Cancer – Ace of Wands and Seven of Wands – Haha! You got the Ace of Wands again (“create something new”). When I asked why, you got Seven of Wands, which means that during last week and again this week your regular life can be very distracting. Your challenge is to find time to grow or create something new. Continue to do your own art, listen to music, be in nature, and make wonder in your life
Leo – Page of Pentacles – Last week, The Magician challenged you to experiment, and you found there is much to learn. This week the Page of Pentacles challenges you to expand on what you learned by experimenting. So it’s back to the books or back to the drawing board for you this week, and keep your mind open for new insight.
*Virgo – Hermit – The Hermit is one of Virgo’s life cards. That means you get to learn all the nuances about this card throughout your life. Last week, you all got the Two of Wands or the betwixt card, challenging you to reflect, evaluate and strategizes. The Hermit is the big brother to that card. So the nuanced challenge this week is in learning how to be in the between and still do work. You will be practicing pulling away from your life without stalling out your life or using your alone time positively instead of hiding out or being antisocial. Oh, and a reminder: this is a week for gazing outward at your life, not a week to look within.
Libra – Two of Wands – Last week, Strength challenged you to be in your body and/or heart and take care of the areas you felt had weakened over the past 2 months. The Two of Wands lets you have the space to spend another week doing core work. This card challenges you to stop and take inventory on where you are at and what you need in order to go forward. This is not a week to make big decisions. Wait and take stock.
*Scorpio – Justice and Emperor – Two cards fell out this week for you. You got Justice again, with an Emperor spin. So continue working on your taxes, doing paperwork, working on legal matters…anything that has rules and regulations. With the Emperor here now you can start to use your judgment wisely. Remember, you have the double power of the sword of Justice and the power of a king, so be a just ruler and not a tyrant.
Sagittarius – Five of Swords – This is your second five in a row, so let’s look a bit closer at them. When fives show up they want you to deal with things that bring disruption and chaos into your life. This week the Five wants you to look at your ego and see how its over-inflation and/or deflation is disrupting your life.
Capricorn – Two of Swords – Last week The Hermit asked you to have some alone time to just be and see if by softening your eyes you could gain a new perspective. With this new perspective, the Two of Swords challenges you to make some small decisions to move you forward in life this week. Remember “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” –Confucius
Aquarius – Four of Wands – Last week Justice’s challenge was for you to understand when to take part in the application of Justice and when to let things play out. This week, the Four of Wands reminds you of the lighter things in life. This Four asks you to enjoy your home life: make meals, cuddle with your loved ones, or garden. Make yourself a happy home.
Pisces – Six of Swords – Your next step towards becoming Power Pisces is the Six of Swords. The Six of Swords’ challenge to you is for you to learn your own ebbs and flows. You can gain that perspective by finding the body of water you like the most and studying how it flows. You might find you need the many moods of the sea, the meandering or rush of rivers or the still calm of a lake.
May light be on you, around you, and within you,
Nina
