From Winter Solstice to New Years, I reflect back on what has been and plan for what is to be. So this tarotcast is dedicated to our rearview mirror view.
Not sure if everyone knows but I am a bit of a data geek. I have kept excel sheets on the tarotcast cards that each sign gets since I started this blog. I look at the data in two ways, how many times each card was pulled (for anomalies) and what the actual cards were for each sign (trends). For fun I wanted to see if the data show some statistical difference. And it did. This means that certain cards get pulled outside the average, (which is approximately 9 times) in a 12 month period. With this data I looked for general trends. Now, to be truly scientific I would have to do this for many years. But let’s see how this works out with the data I have so far.
Overall, the least pulled cards (2 times) this year were the Two of Cups – love and the Six of Pentacles – giving. So this year the world was not a very giving or loving place. As an example at least politically, we can see this with Brexit and the US election where open arms policies are changing to arms-crossed policies.
The card pulled the most was the Five of Wands (21 times) – confusion and chaos. The Ace of Wands (20 times), which had us asking ourselves the big philosophical questions of why we are here what we stand for. The Ace of Swords (16 times) challenged us to decipher truth and logic.
The most pulled Higher Arcane (karmic) cards were the Chariot (15 times)- balance while moving and Strength (14 times). In their higher forms we have persevered, tamed our “wild beast” and moved forward with balance and determination. In its lower form, we lost control and direction, which came out as aggression. Again I see an example of this in the aftermath of the US election. I think that how we all deal with Trump on either side of the table will require perseverance and “taming the beast” in our government and in ourselves.
Below are your tarotcasts from the past year with general trends for each sign. The pics are from a tarot deck, New Vision. This deck literally reverses the view of the regular Rider Waite deck.
I would love feedback on how true this kind of tarotcast reads for you.
P.S. Don’t forget, New Years is a great time to get my Astrological reading for a panoramic view of your coming year.
Aries – Your big trends: In May your challenge was around relationships – either you broke up or you finally broke through. Then, in August and September, you were challenged with the death of old habits and strengthening of habits which make your environment run more smoothly. The cards that came up the most for you were 10s. This was a year where you finished up a lot of cycles of the heart, mind, body, and soul. Look in your rearview mirror and see all the things that you have accomplished.
Taurus – Your trends: May was a month of personal expansion and growth. July had its “come to Jesus” moments around where you are in your life. And Mid-September to Mid-November was a rollercoaster ride testing how you want to live your life. The cards that came up the most for you were court cards (people). This was a year of your reflection on the people who surround you. It was full of learning, growing, and expanding yourself through the example, whether good or bad, of others. Look in your rearview mirror and see all the people who have helped you.
Gemini – Your trends: You had he most Higher Arcane cards (big concepts) out of all the signs. Though this karmic year was mostly about internal work on you. February through March you needed to pull away from life and do some navel gazing. In May you popped out to enjoy the sun, and then in June went back in for some more work. This cycle came again in the fall. This year wasn’t so much about new enlightenments but more a broadening and strengthening of who you are. Look in your rearview mirror and see a richer internal landscape.
Cancer – Your trends: This year has been pretty average. By average I mean you have had a balance of beginnings, endings, and big events. However, this year you have found yourself pretty solitary. You might have thought this was a choice, but Cancers had the lowest amount of court cards (people) than any other sign. Also, because your big cards where around balance, healing and enlightenment, you needed the time alone. Look in your rearview mirror and see the celestial dance.
Leo – Your trends: You had the second highest big cards pulled and tied for top with court cards (people). Throughout this year you were working on seeing and dealing with the world in grayscale shades instead of black and white. This was also a year of starts, stops, and having to work around obstacles. Many of those obstacles were around dealing with other people and your relationships. Overall, you have come out ahead but not as far as you thought you would. Also, it was really frustrating getting here. Look in your rearview mirror and you will see the road full of hitchhikers, potholes and detour signs you have had to navigate.
Virgo – Your trends: Believe it or not, this year was pretty average. However, you tended to lump your “big work” into groups, creating kind of an all or nothing ride. At the beginning of the year you really put yourself out in the world trying to make things happen. By summer you did an about turn and pulled back to reevaluate what you wanted. Then in fall you started small jaunts out into the world again but came back in feeling unsettled. You are now ending the year on more doable and brighter notes. Look in your rearview mirror and you see the mountain ranges that you have just traversed.
Libra – Your trends: This year you have had to create your own destiny, and a better one. It has been a slow and steady climb into the future. A year that has been asking you “what do you want” and not solely “what can I you do for other people.” This has been a year of you balancing your giving with your getting. You have had more 2s than all the other signs, which reinforced your balancing act. You have been fine tuning all year to create a more balanced mind, heart, and body. Look in your rearview mirror and see yourself driving the car.
Scorpio – Your trends: This has been a very full year for you. All aspects about relationships have been the major themes this year. You have been reevaluating what you want in a relationship, looking at what your relationships give to you, and how they are working in your life. This was especially highlighted at the beginning of the year and again in the fall. By the end of the year, this has made you really look at what your part has been in the good and the bad in all your relationships. Look in your rearview mirror and see who are the passengers you let into the car.
Sagittarius – Your trends: In February things started to kick into high gear and it felt like you were on a roller coaster ride from then on. However, change, the slow and steady kind, was the sneaky underlying theme this year. Your cards have ranged all over the place, but you kept coming back to changing what doesn’t work in your life. Look in your rearview mirror and see the pile of stuff you left at the dump.
Capricorn – Your trends: This year has been a busy one, but that wasn’t a surprise to you. Since February you have had an Higher Arcane card to deal with every three to four weeks. This has been a year of “no breaks.” You have been doing a long distance marathon which finally, in December, has calmed down. Your main themes were about gaining a bigger and brighter perspective and recreating the structures in your life. Look in your rearview mirror and see a new city being built.
Aquarius – Your trends: Overall, this has been a good year for you. Out of all the signs you have had the lowest number of karma cards to deal with. Most of what you have had to deal with has come from the outside. However, you all have had the most Aces out of all the signs. Aces are new beginnings and you have covered all the suits – thoughts, spirit, material and emotion. So this year has been about planting the seeds for the future. Look in your rearview mirror and see fields of a new harvest growing.
Pisces – Your trends: Overall this was a year of planting, building, and restructuring your life. You seemed to have a burst of work to do each season. The year started off with you tearing down old patterns and then setting up new structures around your relationships. In Spring you started to plant seeds for the future and spent time doing some internal work. Most of summer you spent time strengthening and balancing your life, though by the end of summer you needed some alone time. And then in the fall, you did more work on balancing and restructuring. Look in your rearview mirror and see that old factory or farm refurbished and starting to work again.
May light be on you, around you, and within you,
Nina
