The artist this week, Hilma af Klint was recommended to me by one of my readers, who went to see her show at the Guggenheim recently.  Last week I hinted to Piet Mondrian one of the 3 men attributed to birthing of the abstract movement; however, Hilma beat them there by over a decade.  Where Kandisnky created abstract art from music, Malevich from intellectual purity, and Mondrain from the primary colors, Hilma and her group, the Five – all women, were inspired by spiritualism and science’s investigation into the “invisible world”.

The Five meet regularly beginning in 1856 for sessions of prayer, seance, and meditation.   On January 1, 1906 Klint wrote that a spirit known as Amaliel asked her to create paintings that would cover the walls pf a spiral temple. She switched from painting pastoral landscapes to large paintings of swirls and geometry and symbolism.   Rudolf Steiner, philosopher/architect/esoteric when he saw the pieces said to wait 50 years before showing them.  She, believing the world was not ready for her art, up to and through her death bequeathed them not to be shown until 20 years after her demise in 1944.

I find it fascinating that it is just now that the art community at large is ready to support a woman artist being the creator of the abstract art movement.  Also,that her first showing of her work in the US is at the Guggenheim, which is based on the spiral and wasn’t completed until 1959.  Hmm, makes you think maybe the there is something to this spirit thing ;).

King of Pentacles – Last week the Knight of Pentacles wanted you to work on your environment, your work that brings in money, your health and/or any physical project that creates a physical item.  The King of Pentacles continues this momentum.  However, he wants to see at the very least some aspect of a the product finished, so finish a project or move it to a place where you can see the end, or double down on your fitness regime.  Your motto – Do it.

Gemini

*Hierophant – The Hierophant comes when you need more boundaries and structure or when you have created so much structure that you cannot move.  Here is the interesting with Gemini’s and this card no matter which of the above you are in you still need to incorporate flexibility.  You all do better emulating bamboo than a brick wall this week.

Cancer

Page of Swords – Another page more learning for you this week.  Last week was more like book learning this is week is about listening.  There are messages in the air for you.  Your motto- keep your ears and mind open.

Leo

Knight of Cups – Another week of stoking your emotions with the Knight of Cups.  This week’s energy is all about working on making yourself your own romantic heroine/hero.  This is not all about loving yourself but spreading good vibes outwards.  Your exercise is something like caring a bouquet of flowers around and hand them out then to strangers.  You know, use that Leo charm you were gifted with.

Virgo

*Moon – Interesting you all get the Moon card in the week of the eclipse and a full Moon.  If you feel so inclined do some moon-magic and call in what you would you like to bring into the light this month.  This can be as simple as lighting a candle and wishing for a _____ (you fill it in) or as complex as finding some empty field in the wild letting your inner wolf/fairy out to howl and/or dance in the Moon asking for her blessings.

Libra

Six of Wands – The Six of Wands lessons are around respect.  All the sixes teach us about expanding and contracting.  This card centers around the concept of ego and how that affects our place as well as the status of others.  The key with this week is modeling respects of others which will in turn raise your level of esteem from them.

Scorpio

Eight of Cups – The Eight of Cups foretells the energy for this week is letting go.  Usually the letting go is around expectations and or emotional connections.  But it can be as simple as cleaning out your junk drawer.  The goal is to feel lighter by the end of the week.

Four of Swords – The Four of Swords is the card of resting the mind.  Last week had you communing with people however, this week you need to disconnect from the world especially in the land of communication.  Take time without technology if you can – even going so far as spending a night with just candle light.  Also, this is a card of colds so wash your hands a lot this week.

Three of Wands – This card is a card of imagining your future.  The vibe for you is taking mind trips to possible futures, journeys or goals.  The challenge is imagining more – bigger and wider.  There is a whole world out there to explore.

Aquarius

*Justice – As much as you want things to be black and white the paradox is few things are.  There is a world of color and shades for us to ponder and enjoy.  The challenge and paradox are even though you are seeing all the colors and shades – decisions still need to be made.  Pick a path and go.  With this card the path is not guaranteed but the destination is always fair and just.

Pisces

Four of Pentacles – The Four of Pentacles is the card of conservation.  This week conserve your strength, your money and your time.  It is not so much that these things are precious, but the challenge is working smarter not harder.
