This tarot-cast’s art work is done by Maryanne Pollock.  To me, her pieces  bring to light duality in myself and my environment.  For example, the piece above makes me smile and feel calm in the same moment.  It also reminds me of diatoms and algae looking through a microscope and stars and planets looking through a telescope.  Another example is her White Desert project from 2015 which was thoughtful and now even more eerily relevant piece about refugees.  I found this project touching on duality through the lens of age and small/global community (time and space).  Her art reminds us that in our seemingly polar differences there is similarity and a sense of connectivity.

Gemini is a sign of duality and connectivity.  Where we can feel seemingly opposing things within a moment and yet when we stand back can see the ribbon of commonality. Gemini is  the month in the northern hemisphere where we feel the last cool breezes of spring and the beginnings of summer’s hot days.  Where in the southern hemisphere we feel the last bit of warmth of fall’s sun and start to feel the cold wind of winter with in moments.  And  in both where weather can change in a blink,  sunny one moment and a downpour the next. The Gemini sign reminds us that life is not simple and that in many ways “one” does not truly exist.

Aries – Three of Swords

The Three of Swords in the coming week there will be three events that trigger your insecurities.  The challenge is to make each event one of healing rather than anguish.

Taurus – Seven of Cups

The Devil has arrived for your birth month; therefore this theme extends throughout the coming year.  This card arrives when you are on your last act, readying to begin a new life or evolution.  As Jesus was tested in the desert and Buddha under the tree with the delights of the world, their challenge was not to deviate from their path.  This year you will also be tested on your ideas, people, lifestyle and morals.   The key is seeing that the Devil does not bring hardship, he brings distraction.  This is a hard card for air signs who are already challenge to move like the wind.  This year will challenge you to stand firm in your convictions and morals.  Your challenge is to stay focus on your path and stand firm on who you are or want to be.

 

Cancer – King of Wands

Last week the Emperor adding to the reality you want to create by nudging the factors bit by bit.  The King of Wands continues the theme for another week.  This card is about building creativity and passion into your life.  How can you construct a sacred time for your creativity to blossom?  Your challenge is not to let perfectionism damp the joy of your imagination.

Leo – Ten of Swords

Ten of Swords warns that you are not listening to your intuition.  This week will bring it’s difficult but you can dampen its effect by connecting with your intuition and when to duck or shimmy out of the way.

 

Virgo – Nine of Cups

The Hermit last week challenged you to seek solitude not out of a reaction of being over social but to be proactive about scheduling your need of space and time to decompress.   This week the Nine of Cups helps you ponder and notice contentment.  This card’s challenge is to find contentment in the little moments of a cat’s purr, a cool breeze on a hot day, your child’s laughter, or even peeing when your bladder is about to burst.

Libra – King of Cups

Emotions are highlighted this week with the King of Cups.  This card challenges you to use your emotions for the good of the many.  So open our arms and heart and hug as many people as you can this week. You will find the return is worth your weight in gold.

Scorpio – Nine of Wands

The Nine of Wands is the card of preparation and perseverance.  The better prepared you are this week the better you will persevere.

Sagittarius – Eight of Pentacles

The Judgment card last week challenged you to create a ritual or rite of passage that moves you on to the next act of your life.  The Eight of Pentacles has you already prepping for that new phase.  The challenge around this card is acknowledging that you are the mistress/master of your destiny right now.  So, what do you need to do to begin the shift to the new paradigm?

 

Capricorn – Four of Wands

Last week, the Tower came to shake things up and challenge you to stand back and enjoy the destruction. This week the Four of Wands begins the reconstruction.  The Four of Wands challenges you to start at home because this where your hearth and heart draws their power.  This week fix one thing that you always wanted to make your house feel more comfortable.

The Magician challenges you to bring something from the divine into the material realm.  This can be as simple as creating a new dish to feed your family or as complex as beginning to make one of your dreams a reality.  The challenge is experimenting with your creation until you have tweaked into something that represents you.

The Judgment card is its simplest form asks to use your best judgment this week when speaking and acting, and if you don’t know what to do- Silence is Golden.  In its more complex form some of you might be on the beginning of an evolutionary journey which feels this week like a rite of passage.
