The spooky artist this week is Michelle Machara @macharaology.  I found her by search drawing prompts and it’s Halloween my favorite time.  There are a bunch out there like: @drawtober or #mabsdrawlloweenclub #drawlloween #comictober.  Her art is amazing and once you enter her site you see she often works in mini paintings the size of playing card!

I love October not for the fall colors or the pumpkin spiced anything but because it is spiritual a time to ponder death and possible hang out with ancestors.  And a time we can openly use our imagination and play dress up.  I often wonder if our choices for our costumes are a place to show or investigate different parts of personas. Some costumes are humorous, some are scary, but they all are ways to use our imagination and to be someone or something else.  A time to let go of our everyday self and have fun.

Solar System highlights

The moon begins in Scorpio – wanting us to focus on what makes us zing.   On Tuesday it moves into Sagittarius – wanting us to explore our emotions or the why behind what we do.  And on Friday, the moon moves into Capricorn – great for getting chores done around the home.

Mercury (communication and knowledge) is in Libra until Oct 22^nd.  Where the lessons are around balancing deep listening as well as communicating clearly.   Mars (action) is in Scorpio (passion). Wanting us to check that our actions are supporting the expression of our passion.  While Venus (beauty and harmony) is in Virgo (organization) until November 8th. So now we move from contemplating our outward expression harmonizes with what is within, to applying what we have learned into our life.   This week is prime time to start making those changes.  You will have the rest of October to catch this wave.

The outer planets until the end of the year and into next are having us work on nurturing the pleasures in our lives, be aware of dipping into overindulgence, making our structures elastic and responsive to change, and lastly looking back to 2008 to see if any lose ends need to be tied up especially around the house and planets that sit in your natal Capricorn.

King of Fire – The Muse of Expression would like you to work on your “elevator pitch.”  That is a five minute or less speech about who you are, what you stand for, and what you are doing in the world.  You may need it in the coming months to pitch an idea, project or yourself.  The clearer you are about who you are, your goals, why those goals are important, and what do you uniquely bring to the table, the better they will hear and be sold on your pitch.

Eight of Swords – The Muse of Bondage comes when old thought patterns will not help a situation or problem.  She advises walking away from these archaic pathways that no longer serve you.  This week think outside the box or even allow a blank slate.  She reminds you that it is okay to erase and begin again.

*Chariot – The Muse of Momentum comes for a couple of reasons.  The first is practical, this muse often shows up when your mode of transport needs modifying or fixing so check your shoes and mode of transportation.  The second is more esoteric.  This week you may need to be the one in the lead to get anything done.  You will need to take the reins to get the metaphorical buggy on the road.

Queen of Earth – You work hard but the Muse of Luxury would like you to balance that with some luxuriating.  So, during the workday, work.  But once that whistle blows leave your work behind and enjoy yourself.  This muse reminds you that you need to enjoy the life you worked so hard to get.

*Devil – This week is especially full of diversions.  So, the Muse of Distractions advises before this week even starts to list what you need to do, so you have an idea what to focus on.  She also advises to try and limit your social media or technology time.  On your off time grab a book or some other form of non-digital entertainment.  You need to stay in your reality not others’ figments of one.

 

Libra

*Lovers – The Muse of Relationships advises this week to re-commit to the relationships that feed you as much as you feed them.  This doesn’t always compute to 50/50 exchange. Like Brene Brown says no working relationship is 50/50 all the time, but when you or your partner are at 20% usually the other can pick up the slack.  But here is where the commitment piece lies.  If you both are in the lower percentages, you communicate well enough to figure out a plan so you both come out on the other side.

 

Scorpio

*Temperance – The Muse of Mixology comes when something is off balance.  She reminds you this is not about applying equal parts but to come at the problem by tweaking just one ingredient at a time.  The key is being very observant to details and having a delicate touch when readjusting.

 

Sagittarius

Two of Air – Every week is full of decisions but this week the path chosen is more about how you feel than what would be the logical choice.  The muses would like you to weigh things with your heart not your mind.

 

Capricorn

Ace of Earth – All aces herald a new beginning.  This week the beginning is on the material plan.  This can come as a new form of prosperity that makes you feel protected and more stable.  Some examples are a new health regime, a new form of transportation, a new money source.  The muses only ask that you open your arms to the abundance that you have planted and is now sprouting.

Seven of Earth – The Muse of Work advises the best thing for you to do this week is keep busy.  Whether it is because you have a huge to-do list or you are antsy or even sluggish, keeping your hands and mind busy will help with checking things off your list while keeping your mental state firmly rooted.
