In her own words: “My art has always been political but by the end of the 70s the world was in constant change, there was a strong women’s movement, but we didn’t identify with the causes of the white American people, so my art reflects a unique perspective as a Chicano woman. The political issues that I like to draw about now have to be with exploitation of women around the world, issues like the killing of women in Juarez, political corruption, and immigration.”

This happens about once a year. If you have a M-F work schedule the moon’s energy for the next couple of weeks may feel counter intuitive. The highly productive energy lands on the weekends and the dreamier, “head in the clouds” energy for the weekdays. Monday the Moon moves into Scorpio – wanting you to follow your passions. Venus has also retrograded back to Piscis until April 30th. This is your second chance to work with your dreams, art and creativity. Mars finally moves into a new sign, Leo, on April 17th until June 8th. There will be a surge for action, change and new beginnings. Though again we need to watch our tone for fights can ensue especially with Mercury’s positioning. Try to remain humble and curious in convos and implementing plans.
Our longer aspects: Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Gemini until June. This placement helps us to work with opportunities to grow and succeed through intellectual, verbal, and written pursuits. However, we must also watch its challenging aspects: not following through, gossip, too much information and fickleness. Saturn is in Pisces until May 25, wanting us to learn how to be more fluid and inclusive in our structures. And it is the last time it will work with Venus (love, beauty, creativity and art) in Piscis for another 28 years, so it is a good idea to work on inking in some Venusian activities into your daily schedule.
