Tarotcast for the Week of November 26, 2017

Above is the art work Starburst by Barbara Morgan. She is widely known for her photographs of Martha Graham’s Dance Troup: Martha Graham: Sixteen Dances in Photographs. However, her worked is varied from Summer’s Children: A Photographic Cycle of Life at Camp to her abstract photographs of dancers and light. The thread that runs through her work is ability to capture the power of transient gestures of movement.

Her work transcends the subject – it stirs the soul. When we watch a dance performance or live through a summer at camp we take with us a holistic feeling of what we have experienced. But when we see that movement in mid-form, it transcends the concept of the whole dance. In that suspension of time, we see our spirit

Tarotcast for Week of August 27, 2017

Andreas Gursky uses large format photography and a higher point of view to capture our environments giving us a different perspective than where we normally journey. His architectural photos show how we try to order and create symmetry in our world. But even in his subjects where we think we would find randomness, by pulling us back to a wider perspective, our eyes and minds try to find order to our chaotic world.

The smaller format below does not do Gursky’s work justice, so I suggest you go to his website.

P.S. Remember, signs with * it’s a big week for you.

Aries – Eight of Pentacles – Back to a regular work week with the Eight of Pentacles. This card advises you to focus on work. If you do, you will find yourself in the flow more often than not. Your challenge is improve your skills and center your attention to master your work.

Taurus – Ten of Wands – The Ten of Wands’ lesson is about putting too much on your plate. This week your challenge is to drop or at the very least put on the backburner one project. You have too many things to do and are feeling overwhelmed. And of course with your Taurus work ethic, you can do it all, but is that how you want your everyday life to look like?

Tarotcast for Week of June 11, 2017

Julia Cameron Photography

The photographer Julia Margaret Cameron was born June 11, 1815 – 202 years ago. She started taking photographs late in life, at the age of 49. At the time, people accused her of slovenliness and bad photography. Instead of the hyper-realism expected in this budding art form, she used a soft focus, allowed her subjects to move, often portrayed them in legendary themes, and played with the development process. This is typical of air signs; they do their best work outside of pre-existing structures. To deal with air signs think about them like the wind – without boundaries. When you enjoy the wind the most is when it unexpectedly glides across your skin on a hot summers day.

P.S. Remember, signs with * it’s a big week for you.

Aries – Three of Swords – Last week was about feeding your strength. That was preparation for this week. The Three of Swords’ lesson is about getting rid of or refusing to accept thoughts that hurt you emotionally. This week, watch out for your thoughts piercing others or for someone else being passive-aggressive with your heart. Your challenge is to dislodge or dodge the negative darts thrown at you.

Taurus – Ace of Pentacles – You get back to work this week with the Ace of Pentacles. This is a great time to start a project, and get your hands dirty. The challenge with this card is that you have so many options that it is hard to pick just one. It is important that you pick just one.
